RIVER OF WORDS
Let the words flow like a river
gushing and frothing cascading
headstrong torrent tumbling and reckless
careless in their carousing
crashing and bashing and wrecking
Pausing for breath rest
an athlete exhausted from the race
panting gasping racked
what power dissipated wasted spent
still strength remains beneath
Unleashed the headlong rush resumes
finding new purpose in voice
resounding bass drowns all others
pounding punching hurling all
to leave some faint scratch
Pace slowed dragging and dawdling
attempting to delay the tolling bell
Eden’s path blocked shadows shroud
ancient rhythms pulse near
slipping into another realm self pours out
